How to get that iPhone Aethstetic

You’ve seen the TikTok videos, the Facebook feed posts, the Pinterest boards. But how on earth do I get custom icon designs on my iPhone? Well, good thing you turned to Erikpedia! I’ll give you the rundown along with some great inspiration without all the BS.

It’s very simple you see, it all starts with the Shortcuts app that you download from the app store. Don’t download the fake crap that somehow Apple can’t hide from their search results when you type the exact phrase into the bar. Come on Apple you should know how to SEO your own apps in your own app store.

Now your going to create a new shortcut.

Click the plus button

Choose Scripting. This is the secrete sauce.

You can call yourself a hacker now.

Now Open App. Do I really have to tell you, just look at the pictures?

If this isn’t innovation, I don’t know what is.

Alright, now you’re gonna choose an app. GASP!

What would an Apple tutorial be without highlighting only Google apps?
Now click next, what are you my mom, you should be able to figure this out by now.

Ok so here’s the real tricky part that so many people screw up. Do not waste your precious time. Changing this name and this icon will not be what shows up on your home screen. So save some time and just move on. Let’s be honest, you’re probably doing this for all 200 apps installed on your phone so every second counts.

Don’t waste your time with this naming and icon BS. This doesn’t help with your aesthetic. You set the icon later

Now tap the little more dot icon.

Use that share sheet. Did you even know that’s what that icon was called?

Add this to your home screen. Next is the good stuff so buckle up. Glad you stuck around for this long.

Tap on that useless icon Apple auto-set for you, and choose that pretty aesthetic icon you probably saved to your camera roll earlier. If you don’t mind sticking around for an even longer time and I’ll share some sweet aesthetics in another article for you to get inspired by.

Time to set your aesthetic

After you pick your icon, make sure you zoom it in and position it so it’s centered. You don’t want any black bars ruining your iPhone aesthetic.

Miata!

Last step, tap Add.

Don’t forget to remove the existing app. But be sure to only send it to your app library, don’t Uninstaller it.

Boom done! Rinse and repeat about 200 times and your iPhone can have a brand new aesthetic too.
